What it does
Tasks appear by themselves
A departure becomes a full clean, a stayover becomes a refresh. The board is built from the reservations that already exist, so it cannot disagree with them.
Dirty, clean, inspected
Three states, one tap each. The desk sees the change immediately and stops holding a guest at reception for a room that was ready twenty minutes ago.
Work orders for everything else
Deep cleans, linen changes and one-off jobs go on the same board, so nothing lives on a separate note that gets lost.
Housekeepers see rooms, not guests
The housekeeping role is shown room numbers, task types and notes. Guest names, contact details and balances are removed on the server, not hidden in the interface.
Assigned, with a name on it
Tasks belong to a person. At the end of a shift it is clear what was done, what was not, and who to ask.
Feeds the arrivals board
A room that has not been inspected is not offered to an arriving guest. The two boards are the same data seen from two sides.
Why the guest name is cut out on the server
It would be easy to build one housekeeping screen and hide the guest column for cleaners. That is not the same as not sending it — anyone who opens the browser tools can read what was hidden. Under UK GDPR the test is whether the data was disclosed, not whether it was displayed. So the trimming happens before the response leaves the server.
